**PLEASE CALL THE MILL BEFORE SENDING POPLAR**
Please find attached the new ThorHammer prices and specs for veneer logs. To simplify specs for slasher and harvester operators, our spec is now 10" top and 9 foot log - much easier to remember. We can and will still take a 9" log, but 7's and 8's will be scaled and sorted as sawlogs or firewood and paid accordingly as a grade 4 log.
The poplar market has been very volatile as of late, and therefore we will be watching the markets closely and likely adjusting our receiving schedule accordingly. Therefore, kindly mention to you harvesters and woodlot wonders to call first to check if we are still receiving poplar loads as we head into winter.
We have also adjusted our trucking rates to reflect the recent increase in diesel fuel and reduced trucking zone distances. Please also refer to sheet 2 of our spec sheet for delivery rates. remember - ThorHammer lists log prices roadside, and trucking rates are not included as others may do - so be sure your producers are comparing apples to apples.

This trailer is a preview to a series of 5 short informational videos we will be releasing over the next few weeks. This video series was created in partnership with Community Forests International and with the support of Environment and Natural Resources in Canada through the Building Regional Adaptation Capacity and Expertise (BRACE) program (https://www.nrcan.gc.ca/environm…/impacts-adaptation/…/21324).
If you are a woodlot owner, these videos are for you! Researchers, ecologists and forestry professionals were consulted to understand how the changing climate will affect New Brunswick’s forests, and how we can manage our forests for climate resilience.
