NOTICE FROM J.D. IRVING

Producers,

As you start trucking wood to our Mills, please prioritize Studwood to both Sussex and Chipman.

Our Sawlog and Pulpwood inventories are in good shape, but we are tighter on Studwood.

If you have any inventory of Studwood, please clean it up first.

Any help you can give is appreciated.

notice (05/02/2025)

UPDATE TO 2025 SPRING WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS - END DATES

Spring weight restrictions for truck traffic will now come into effect at 00:01 (AST) Monday, March 10th, in Southern New Brunswick. and at 00:01 (AST) on Monday, March 17th, in Northern New Brunswick.

Restrictions will continue until 23:59 (AST) Sunday, May 4th, in Southern New Brunswick and until 23:59 (AST), Sunday, May 11th in Northern New Brunswick. These dates are dependent upon weather conditions and are subject to change.

The Department reminds heavy vehicle operators and freight forwarders that the authorized axle load limits are reduced during the spring thaw period on all public roads. This is done every year to account for the road network’s lower bearing capacity during the spring thaw period.

NOTICE (04/11/2025)

JDI will now require producers to sign the Producer Confirmation form before delivering wood. The form is part of the requirements to the new European Union Deforestation Regulation.

Producers must sign the form and leave it at the YSC office. We will then forward the completed forms to JDI. We will have copies on hand at the front desk, or producers may print their own to sign and drop off to our office.

This form is a requirement from producers to ensure that the wood has originated from a harvest that is not being converted to agricultural land and that the harvest will continue in forestry production. Building lots and road construction are allowed. The producer is responsible to have the owner confirm that the property is not intended to be converted.

Please contact Wendell Munn at JDI or YSC with any questions.
