On Saturday, September 28, 2024, the Nashwaak Watershed Association Inc. and YSC Forest Products Marketing Board held a field day on Allan Robertson’s woodlot in Stanley to celebrate Allan as YSC’s 2024 Woodlot Owner of the Year.
We couldn’t have ordered a more perfect warm sunny autumn day. We had a wonderful group of close to 40 interested woodlot enthusiasts, homemade cookies, and an amazing host to tour us through his woodlot answering questions and explaining the activities and trials he has done over the years.
Al has spent countless hours managing his family woodlot with his primary goals to benefit a variety of tree species, not balsam fir, and to nurture his beloved sugar maples.
Al does most of the work himself and with little financial gain but his true passion for the woodlot shows through in the care and pride he has when he speaks about it. The beautiful woodlot is something that Al and his wife enjoy year-round.
YSC is honored and proud to have Al Robertson as our 2024 Woodlot Owner of the Year.
Thank you, Kate Turner and the Nashwaak Watershed Association, for helping and being part of this special day. Thank you to the New Brunswick Federation of Woodlot Owners for the help with online registration.
Congratulations Al. You are most deserving.
