The Private Woodlot Sustainability Act has passed Legislation. This will allow the government to adjust the Crown stumpage rates and to collect royalties that will be added to the Private Woodlot Sustainability fund. These adjusted rates will come into effect for the 2023 harvest season.
The Private Woodlot Sustainability Act fund will allow for additional funding to increase investments in private woodlots. This fund will provide more opportunities to manage private woodlots for a variety of owner goals, gain confidence for private land contractors and help provide quality wood supply into the future.
More details will be released as they develop.
